- Steam brake
The steam break is the most sensitive detail in the wood frame building. It prevents warm damp air penetrating into the exterior wall or the roof at cold winter days. In this case, the components would soak and it would be an ideal habitat for all types of parasites. The steam brake is therefore part of the structural wood protection and it makes the impregnating of the wood construction with Biocides unnecessary. In the new building a so-called "blower-door-test"is carried out in order to ensure the necessary air density of the building.
